A sound-absorbing wedge is a sound-absorbing body made of porous sound-absorbing material shaped into a cone or wedge. When a sound wave strikes from the tip, due to the gradual transition of the sound-absorbing layer, the acoustic impedance of the material matches that of the air more effectively, allowing the sound wave to enter the absorber and be efficiently absorbed. It is mainly used in the construction of anechoic chambers, product testing rooms, and acoustic laboratories.
